Is Prepare Flights free?
Yes. The app is currently free for all users — no ads, no tracking. Free access is a deliberate part of the development phase.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed as a PWA, weather, NOTAMs, airspace, AIP-based airport data and the last map view are all available without a connection. Any edits sync automatically when you're back online.
Can I file VFR flight plans directly from the app?
Yes. Connect your own autorouter.aero account and file VFR plans via AFTN directly from the app. IFR plans are filed via IFPS. The app also reminds you to close a VFR plan after the estimated arrival time.
How is Prepare Flights different from SkyDemon or ForeFlight?
Prepare Flights is browser-based (no separate app to install), free, and optimised for Nordic data sources — FMI, SMHI, DMI, Met Norway, Flyk and OpenAIP. SkyDemon and ForeFlight are paid native apps.
Which regions have the best data coverage?
Coverage is deepest across the Nordics (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland) and the Baltics. Weather and airport data are available globally, though accuracy may be lower internationally.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can use the app anonymously. If you want, sign in with an email magic link or Google account to sync flights, preferences and aircraft profiles across your devices.
